> Wheelchair-bound man posts nude pictures of his former lover on the Internet

BAHAU: Police arrested a wheelchair-bound man on Tuesday for allegedly posting nude pictures of his former lover on the Internet.

The 30-year-old was said to have done so in revenge after the woman left him earlier this year.

The man had met the woman online and they developed a relationship.

Some time last year, he invited her to his house in Kampung Baru Mahsan, near here, where she spent several days. It was then that he had taken the nude pictures of her.

When she told him earlier this year that she was leaving him for another man, he threatened to post the pictures of her on the Internet.

When a friend told her there were pictures of her on the Internet, she immediately suspected her ex- boyfriend and lodged a report at the Jempol police headquarters on Tuesday.

The man was picked up several hours later.

State Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Superintendent Ramli Mohd Nor said police seized the man’s computer and were checking it for evidence. The man was released after his statement was recorded.

TOKYO — Yukiko Hachisuka, 23, a pin-up girl and member of the pop group Minisuka Police (short for Miniskirt Police), grabbed a man whom she says sexually molested her on a train, police said Tuesday.

According to police, Hachisuka had gotten on the Odakyu line at Shimokitazawa station after work last Friday. She told police she felt herself being groped around her rear end for 10 minutes. Just before arriving at Mukogaokayuen station, Hachisuka grabbed the groper’s wrist and held onto him until the train pulled in to the next station where she handed him over to the station staff.

Police said the suspect, identified as Yoshiyuki Tamura, 43, has admitted to the charge. He was quoted as saying, “Initially, the back of my hand just touched her rear end, but I guess I got a little too excited.”

BAHAU: Police detained a man after he allegedly raped his 7-year-old niece at a house in Batu Kikir, near here, on Monday.

Jempol police chief Superintendent Mohd Sabri Muhamad said the 46-year-old suspect allegedly raped the girl after she returned home from school.

“The victim was scared that her uncle would rape her again and immediately told her mother who lodged a police report. The girl was also sent to the district hospital for examination,” he said.

It is understood that the victim’s mother worked in Kuala Pilah and she had told her daughter to stay with the suspect and his family during the day.

> Man jailed for raping 14yo sister-in-law

KUANTAN: A businessman was yesterday sentenced to nine years’ jail and five strokes of the rotan by the Sessions Court for raping a 14-year-old girl, who was also his would-be sister-in-law, in 2005.

The 47-year-old man was found guilty of raping the girl, who is now 17, at the backroom of a restaurant in Sungai Isap 2 here between November, 2005, and January, 2006.

At the time, the accused, who was already married with four children, was engaged to the victim’s older sister.

He was arrested on March 3, 2006, and the case went to trial in November.

He went on to marry his fiance although they are now separated.

The accused’s lawyer, Syed Azimal Syed Abu Bakar, in mitigation, asked for a lighter sentence as his client had no previous criminal record and has several school-going children to support.

Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Fadzli Mahmud said the accused had victimised the girl who eventually became his sister-in-law.

Sessions Court judge Habibah Mohamed Yusof ordered the sentence to start from yesterday.

Syed Azimal told the court that he would file a request for a stay of execution on the sentence pending an appeal.

GEORGE TOWN: The Majestic Heights flats in Paya Terubong has become a favourite haunt among men looking to pick foreign women up.

Many are making a beeline to the nine blocks for sex, which has now been labelled as a “mini Haadyai” by the residents.

Locals fear they are fighting a losing battle against the vice activities at some of the vacant units in the 23-storey blocks which have been broken into by foreigners who have turned it into prostitution dens.

The residents, who have formed a Rakan Cop watch group, have even caught couples having sex inside the units. Soiled mattresses have also been found in the units.

A few pictures, one of which showed a semi-nude couple, were made available to The Star.

Several residents have even spotted used condoms on the ground outside their flats.

It is estimated that some 5,000 foreigners comprising mostly Bangladeshis, Indonesians and Vietnamese are staying there – double the number of locals in the area.

Majestic Heights joint management committee executive adviser S.L. Chang said the foreign workers started renting the units about three years ago.

He said the Indonesian and Vietnamese women would dress scantily to seduce the men.

“Once they strike a deal, they would proceed to one of the vacant units, usually on the upper floors of the blocks,” he said, adding that the Rakan Cop patrol team which started about two months ago has caught numerous couples at night.

Committee chairman Lew Hong Keat said the ladies seldom left the flats.

A 52-year-old local resident who wished to be known only as Poh said the ladies were sexy.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Azam Abd Hamid said he would personally head a police raid if residents could provide details of the vice activities.

ACP Azam said his men had raided the units several times but did not come across any suspicious activities.

He also questioned in what context certain quarters were referring to the place as a “mini Haadyai”.

“Are there many pubs operating there? Is there a ‘showroom’ for women offering sex? And, since when is the use of condom a crime?” he asked.

> Guard claims trial to raping 10yo step daughter

KLANG: A 53-year-old school security guard was charged in the Sessions Court here 01 July 2009 with two counts of sexually assaulting his 10-year-old stepdaughter.

He claimed trial to committing the first offence in their house in Kampung Nelayan, Port Klang between May and June last year.

On the second charge, he is alleged to have committed carnal intercourse against the order of nature at the same place between May last year and June 18 this year.

Judge Datin Anita Harun denied bail and fixed Aug 17 for mention of the case.
