> Serial groper caught in the act on Yokohama train

YOKOHAMA — A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday 1 Jul 2009 for allegedly groping in a train after he was caught touching a high school girl on his way to work, police said.

According to police, at around 7:25 a.m., the suspect—identified as Kiyoshi Mori—was riding the JR Yokohama line when he stood behind a 16-year-old female high school student and touched her buttocks. The girl grabbed his hand and held onto him until the train pulled in to the next station, where she handed him over to station staff.

According to police, Mori has admitted to the charge, and was quoted as saying that he had groped women about 200 times since the summer of 2005. Mori told police he committed the crimes casually and on a regular basis, traveling in trains going in the opposite direction from his company until his 8 a.m. shift.
