GUNMA — Four college students have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping an 18-year-old girl, police said Monday. According to police, the four suspects—Takasaki City vocational school student Ryoya Asaka, 20, and three other fellow students, all 19 years old, were charged with allegedly raping the girl in a car. The three 19-year-olds, who cannot be named because they are minors, have admitted to the charges, but Asaka maintains his innocence, police said.

According to police, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday. The four reportedly assaulted the girl in their car while cruising around nearby Fujioka City after leaving a karaoke establishment in Takasaki.

Immediately after the incident, the girl contacted police, saying she had been forced to drink and then was attacked by the youths. She told police she had joined two of the youths at karaoke after being invited by mutual friends.
