A woman has severed her boyfriend’s penis with a kitchen knife after accusing him of raping her daughter.

Maria da Silva allegedly attacked 42-year-old Isaias Saturnino while he was sleeping at their home in north-eastern Brazil.

She then fled the scene and remains on the run, police said.

Saturnino underwent reconstructive surgery and was said to be in good condition, but is expected to stay at least two months in the hospital for observation.

Police official Fabio Gaudencio said Silva’s daughter, now a teenager, accused Saturnino of raping her from the age of seven.

Saturnino has not been charged with any offence.
